Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about solar, batteries, financing, and working with Creative Solar USA.
General
Since 2008, Creative Solar USA has been Georgia's trusted solar installer. We use our own local crews -- never subcontractors -- and take an honest approach to every project. If solar does not make sense for your property, we will tell you. Our experience across 3,600+ installations means we have seen it all and know how to deliver a system that performs for decades.
We serve Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Alabama. Most of our projects are within 1-3 hours of our Kennesaw, GA headquarters, but we regularly travel up to 6 hours for the right project. Contact us with your address and we will let you know if we can help.
We install top-tier equipment including Tesla, Enphase, FranklinWH, Pytes, HomeGrid, Sol-Ark, and more. Rather than pushing a single brand, we match the right equipment to your specific needs, roof, and budget.
Residential
A typical residential solar system costs between $15,000 and $30,000 before incentives. The exact price depends on your energy usage, roof size, shading, and the equipment you choose. We provide free, no-obligation quotes so you can see exactly what your system would cost.
Most roofs work well for solar. The key requirements are minimal shade, a roof in good condition, and roughly 200-400 square feet of available space. South-facing roofs are ideal, but east- and west-facing roofs also produce excellent results. We evaluate your roof during our free consultation and let you know exactly what to expect.
Solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into electricity using photovoltaic (PV) cells. An inverter then converts the direct current (DC) power into the alternating current (AC) power your home uses. Excess energy goes back to the grid, earning you credits on your utility bill through net metering. On cloudy days or at night, you draw power from the grid as usual -- or from a battery if you have one installed.
Yes. Studies consistently show that solar panels increase home value by an average of 4.1%. Solar homes also tend to sell faster than comparable homes without solar. Buyers recognize the value of lower electricity bills and modern, energy-efficient upgrades.
Your solar system transfers to the new owner as part of the property, which is a selling point that adds value. If there is a remaining balance on financing, it is typically paid off at closing. The warranties also transfer to the new homeowner.
Commercial
The 30% Investment Tax Credit (ITC) allows commercial property owners to deduct 30% of their solar installation cost directly from their federal tax liability. This is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit, not just a deduction. There are two ways to qualify at the full 30% level: begin physical construction on or before July 4, 2026 (the Safe Harbor path, which then gives up to four years to finish), or place the system in service on or before Dec 31, 2027. The residential ITC has expired, making the commercial credit one of the strongest remaining incentives for solar.
Any business with significant electricity costs can benefit from solar. Warehouses, manufacturing facilities, farms, office buildings, retail stores, churches, and nonprofits are all strong candidates. If your building has a large, unshaded roof or open land, solar can dramatically reduce your operating costs.
Commercial solar projects can achieve attractive payback periods when combining energy savings with federal incentives such as the 30% ITC and MACRS depreciation. After payback, the electricity your system produces continues to offset grid costs for the remaining 20+ years of the system's life. Actual payback depends on system size, electricity usage, location, financing, and your tax situation — we model each project individually.
Commercial solar projects can stack multiple federal incentives, including the 30% Investment Tax Credit, MACRS accelerated depreciation, and Section 179 deduction. Projects meeting domestic content, energy community, or prevailing wage requirements may also qualify for IRA bonus adders on top of the ITC baseline. Eligibility and combined benefit depend on project specifics — consult your tax advisor. Creative Solar USA does not provide tax or legal advice.
Service & Maintenance
Yes. We offer comprehensive service and repair (S&R), system monitoring, and panel cleaning to keep your system running at peak performance. Whether you need a routine checkup, troubleshooting, or repair work on a system installed by another company, our experienced technicians can help.
Solar panels are built to withstand harsh conditions. They use tempered glass and are tested to endure hail, high winds, and heavy snow loads. Modern panels meet UL certification standards that include impact testing. While extreme events can occasionally cause damage, it is rare -- and in most cases, your homeowner's insurance covers any repairs needed.
Financial
Creative Solar USA is currently cash only, so we do not lend or finance projects in-house. We can help connect both residential and commercial customers with trusted third-party financing partners. Contact us and we will share the current options that fit your situation.

On top of manufacturer warranties, we include our own workmanship warranty covering the quality of our installation. You are protected for the long haul.
